Lynn Thomson wins 2015 Edna Staebler Award for Creative Non-Fiction

Posted on September 23, 2015 By Bruce Gillespie

I’m thrilled that the news is finally out: Lynn Thomson has won the 2015 Edna Staebler Award for Creative Non-Fiction for her book Birding With Yeats.

As I’m quoted saying in the news release,

Birding With Yeats is an exquisitely written first book. Thomson’s writing makes you want to read the book as slowly as possible, so as to appreciate fully each finely crafted sentence and keen-eyed detail.

You can read all of the details about the award here. Thomson will be presented with the award at a ceremony at Wilfrid Laurier University’s Waterloo campus on November 5. On November 6, I’ll be hosting a public event at Laurier’s Brantford campus. I’ll post more details as they become available.
